Goodbye to Winter

I prepared the drawing for this panel months ago in anticipation of winter… And then winter actually hit, and the subject wasn’t quite so appealing anymore. I longed for warmer, sunnier times.

Now that winter is nearly over (fingers crossed), I feel like I can face it again. 

I like the nearly monochromatic nature of the image, and the challenge of working out the values to bring it to life. This is a larger panel than I’ve been working on lately… 12.25” x 22”, so it will probably take a little longer to complete.

Barring any more snowstorms to sour my enthusiasm, I hope to have it done soon. Stay tuned…
